Water is not only a medium for reviving all things but also a language for communication between humans and nature.
The Chinese pronunciation of "pavilion(亭)" is the same as the pronunciation of "stop(停)".
Beyond the phonetic similarity, "亭子" used to be a town where the Song army had the people of Shandong halt and settle by a picturesque setting of green mountains and water. Thus, in ancient China, the term "亭子" carried the implication of "pausing."
Utilizing "亭子" as a medium prompts people in today's bustling era to pause and contemplate nature's language. The project aims to emulate the "moments of communication" between humans and nature, guiding the audience to ponder the often overlooked languages of nature through the fluctuations of water. How will these languages resonate with people's emotions?

Healing Within Ripples
Sound & Light & Position Interactive InstallationHealing Within Ripples is an interactive installation that combines sound and light responsiveness to convey the transformative power of emotional release, comparing the cleansing capacity of tears to rain, and symbolizes how this personal healing can ripple outward, influencing and reshaping the world around us.
The inspiration comes from my father’s death. His death made me feel an urgent need to grow up quickly. I believed that even in my grief, I shouldn't cry incessantly, as I felt that tears couldn't solve any problems and it somehow seemed weak. So, I began to hold back my tears, until one day, they could be contained no more...
However the truth is, “Our society looks down on perceived weakness and crying is definitely considered weak.”

Medium Impact
Uncovering Information One-sideness
Social media platforms have emerged as a key channel for information dissemination, however not everything is transmitted accurately Content is frequently altered by its medium in this complex digital environment.
Medium Impact examines how this reshaping leads to information one-sidedness and misrepresentation on X (Twitter), Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. The project seeks to uncover the biases and distortions embedded within these platforms that influence public perception.
From a broad examination through a printed data visualization poster (Medium Impact: Uncovering Information One-sidedness) to an in-depth view via an acrylic installation (Medium Impact: Observing Information One-sidedness), the study bridges macro-level trends with individual-level case studies. A motion graphic further sumerises these insights, illustrating the full scope of medium impact on information dissemination.
The data visualization poster focuses on three critical areas: 1) User Variable Factors —how audience demographics and behaviors impact platform content engagement; 2) Platform Content Focus Factors — investigating how platforms' algorithms and subject emphases affect what becomes visible and how; 3) Information Distortion Factors — revealing the discrepancies in factual accuracy and the extent of misinformation spread.
The installation explores five distinct topics on social media, dissecting their representation from a universal event like a meteor sighting to intimate personal experiences. By employing a pixelated aesthetic, an “information blur” effect emerges, illustrate how events become mediated and misrepresented the one-sideness by the social platforms.
In essence, Medium Impact aims to encourage critical thought about the nuances of information propagation, emphasizing the need for authenticity and equity in our digital dialogues.
